Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026 · Golf Cart Maps is operated by Max Greenwald (Matchimus LLC).

Golf Cart Maps (golfcartmap.com and our iPhone app) is a beta map of roads posted 35 mph or under. We collect as little as possible. There are no accounts and no ads, and we never sell your data.

Your location

If you allow it, your device's location is used on your device only, to show where you are, pick your nearest map area, and start routes. Your location is not sent to our servers. Your searches and routes are worked out on your device too.

Third-party services

To draw the map and answer searches, your device connects directly to these services, which see your IP address and the request (for example the map area you're viewing or the place you typed):

• OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org) for map images, and Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) as a backup place search.
• Photon by Komoot (photon.komoot.io) for place search.
• unpkg (map code library) and Google Fonts (fonts).
• Cloudflare, which hosts the site and processes standard request logs.

Road and EV charger data (from OpenStreetMap and the U.S. DOE Alternative Fuels Data Center) is packaged and served from our own site; the app doesn't send your location to the DOE.

Charger layer purchases

Payments for the charger layer are handled by Stripe. We never see your card. Stripe keeps the email you enter at checkout, and we use it only to confirm your subscription, including when you ask to restore an unlock by email. We don't keep our own database of customers. Your device stores a small unlock token so the layer stays unlocked.

Reporting a problem

"Report a problem" opens your own email app with a pre-filled message. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. If you do, we get your email address and what you wrote, and use it only to fix the map and reply to you.

Usage statistics

We may count anonymous usage, like which map areas and features are used, using Cloudflare (including Cloudflare Web Analytics). These stats don't include your name, email or precise location, aren't used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and are never sold.

Stored on your device

The app saves a few settings on your device (your last map area, whether you've seen the risky-road notice, an unlock token if you've purchased) and caches map data for offline use. Clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes them.

Children

Golf Cart Maps isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
